This course will provide students with advanced skills in the art of sugarcraft.
It is divided into 3 sections:
2. Royal Icing and Piping
3. Sugar Flowers
Students will learn key skills for basic techniques in coating a dummy cake using fondant icing, how to emboss, create bows and apply frills, learn piping techniques using royal icing including brush embroidery and writing on a cake and other uses of royal icing. Flower making will also be included on the course using modelling paste from Roses, Gerbera and Peony flowers.
This course is aimed at those who have already participated on the Introduction to Sugarcraft Course or similar to enhance their basic knowledge to advanced level.
Course material must be purchased by the student. A detailed list will be available from the course tutor on the first evening of the course. You are welcome to bring your own equipment to class on the first evening.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to confidently coat a cake with fondant icing and apply a creative finish on a cake, pipe to advanced level using royal icing and create detailed flowers from scratch and much more.
