The Manual Handling certificate achieved upon completion is valid for 2 years.
This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge to carry out manual handling activities in a safe manner that will help prevent injury, particularly to the spine. The course also covers all of the legal requirements associated with manual handling. Participants will develop practical skills on this course enabling them to perform correct lifting techniques, as well as how to pull or push a load correctly.
The course also provides theoretical knowledge so that participants understand the limitations and mechanics of the spine and muscular system and are aware of the consequences of incorrectly carrying, lifting, pulling and pushing a load.
